About Chong Qing YaoMei Hotpot

Chong Qing YaoMei Hotpot brings the authentic, communal spirit of Chinese hot pot dining to the heart of Pasadena at 55 W Green St, CA 91105. As a relaxed yet vibrant eatery, we specialize in tabletop burners that let guests craft their own culinary journey, combining fresh ingredients, rich broths, and personalized dipping sauces. Our concept centers on interactive dining, where friends and family gather around simmering pots to cook thinly sliced meats, hand-picked vegetables, and artisanal noodles, all while enjoying the lively atmosphere of shared meals.

At Chong Qing YaoMei Hotpot, we cater to diverse palates with a rotating selection of broths, from the numbing spice of Sichuan mala to milder bone-based options, ensuring every guest finds their ideal flavor profile. The sauce bar offers over a dozen condiments, allowing diners to mix creations tailored to their tastesβ€”whether they prefer garlic-infused sesame paste, tangy vinegar blends, or fiery chili oils. This customization extends to dietary preferences, with gluten-free, vegan, and protein-rich choices available, making our restaurant a welcoming space for all.

Our commitment to freshness is evident in the quality of ingredients, sourced locally whenever possible to support California’s agricultural community while staying true to traditional Chinese flavors. The menu features premium cuts of meat, sustainably caught seafood, and seasonal produce, ensuring each bite is as nutritious as it is flavorful. The absence of a traditional kitchen setup allows us to focus on ingredient quality and customer experience, streamlining operations without compromising authenticity.

Located in a city known for its eclectic dining scene, Chong Qing YaoMei Hotpot stands out by blending modern convenience with cultural heritage. The restaurant’s layout encourages socialization, with spacious tables designed for group gatherings and intimate corners for smaller parties. Whether guests opt for dine-in or takeout, they’ll experience the same attention to detail, from our curated lunch specials to our efficient takeaway packaging that preserves heat and freshness.

As a Chinese takeaway and shabu-shabu hybrid, we bridge the gap between fast-casual convenience and sit-down luxury. The lunch menu offers quick yet hearty options for busy professionals, while evening service invites leisurely meals under warm, ambient lighting. Our staff is trained to guide newcomers through the hot pot ritual, explaining broth pairings and cooking times to ensure even first-time visitors leave confident and satisfied.

Chong Qing YaoMei Hotpot’s business model prioritizes scalability and customer loyalty. By centralizing procurement and standardizing recipes, we maintain consistency across all offerings while keeping costs competitive. The self-serve nature of hot pot dining reduces reliance on specialized kitchen staff, allowing us to invest more in front-of-house training and community engagement. Seasonal promotions, such as holiday-themed broths and loyalty rewards, further deepen our connection with the Pasadena community.

Looking ahead, we aim to become a cornerstone of local dining culture, celebrated not just for our food but for the memories created around our tables. From date nights to family reunions, Chong Qing YaoMei Hotpot is more than a mealβ€”it’s an experience that celebrates connection, creativity, and the timeless appeal of sharing a pot. Great place when you’re craving something spicy and comforting. I really liked the mushroom soup base while my friends went for the extra spicy broth. Lots of meat and seafood options, so everyone found something they liked.

Really authentic Chongqing hot pot! We got the spicy beef oil broth and it was rich, fragrant, and had the perfect numbing kick. The beef, tripe, and mushrooms were all fresh. Definitely coming back.

I have been to Chongqing Yaomei Hotpot many times since they opened. The best of their hotpot is their soup base and the meat. I ordered their meat a lot and they provide a huge bone to eat with your hot pot soup. Recommend to try because you will find it is so delicious. The restaurant has very cool decoration and you will feel like you are eating in China. Good place!

We weren't in the mood for hotpot on a warm Sunday so we were relieved to find out that this place has a great selection of skewered meat. There were also free snacks upfront. What a great find and the waitstaff made it even greater.

I went there with my friends. We ordered the regular Chinese hot pot dishes, and the price on the website was around $120. However, the restaurant charged us an additional $20 in tax and $20 for tips. I didn’t quite understand how that worked, because I thought tips were supposed to be optional and discussed with customers first. In the end, it turned out to be quite expensive. As a Sichuan native and a lifelong hot pot lover, I think the food was okay but not particularly impressive to me. That said, the staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere and overall environment were clean, tidy, and welcoming.
